Hi y’all, I’m Amy, born in a breezy Chinese beach city called Qingdao (think green Tsingtao beer, a namesake) but raised mostly in a suburb of Houston, Texas.
I’m a Nikon shutterbug, flat white aficionado, always chasing down matcha desserts and happiest when walking the roads of a new city or a hiking trail. As a student journalist in my past life, nothing excites me more than a good story, connecting with others and learning from people from different walks of life.
I caught the travel bug after extended stints in beautiful Buenos Aires and Hong Kong. Some of my favorite travel memories include hiking Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan, a Chinese province bordering Tibet; working as a waitress and food photographer in a cafe on a Japanese art island called Naoshima and tubing in a crater lake on a Salvadoran volcano.
I am a soon-to-be Boston transplant, working as a management consulting analyst for the next few years. Follow along at @geeitsamy on Instagram for the latest in ice cream, trekking and serendipitous adventures 🙂
